    • These chicken skewers are so easy to make. They can be prepped in advance and cooked in under 30 minutes.
    • Perfect to serve fresh and use as meal prep served along with some Garlic Parmesan Green Beans.

    • It's fun to eat stuff on a stick!

    Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

    Ingredients for the recipe.
    • Chicken Thighs. Chicken thighs are the perfect lean-to-fat ratio for skewers. Chicken breast is a suitable substitute but tends to be drier.
    • Honey. Honey will help thicken the sauce.
    • Mayo. Mayo is perfect for marinating skewers because it will give you a nice crispy roast from the grill. Substitute with Greek yogurt.
    • Garlic. Minced garlic will be added to the marinade and the sauce for the most flavor.

How to Grill Garlic Parm Chicken Skewers

These grilled garlic parm chicken skewers basted in a lemon garlic pepper sauce make for a great dinner, and they're easy to prep in advance and cook in under 30 minutes.

Marinating grilled chicken in a bowl.

Step 1: Chop chicken thighs into 1-inch squares. Place into a bowl with olive oil, may, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika, and minced garlic. Combine well and cover. Refrigerate for up to 4 hours.

    Pro-Tips

    1. You can skip marinating, but I prefer to marinate for at least an hour for more tender and flavorful chicken.
    2. Brush with sauce at every turn to keep the skewers from drying out on the grill.
    3. Start the grill at its highest temperature to get a crispy char on the outside of the chicken, then immediately lower it to medium.

    Recipe FAQs

What temperature should I cook chicken skewers on the grill?

Start by heating your grill to high, around 500 to 600°F. Place the skewers on the grill and then lower the heat to medium.

Can you bake chicken skewers instead of grilling?

Yes. Bake at 375°F for 30-35 minutes or until it reaches 165°F.

Should I soak the skewers in advance?

A lot of people suggest soaking them for 30 minutes prior to grilling, but I've never found it to make a big difference.
