    Why you'll love this recipe!

I love this spicy mango margarita because it's made with fresh ingredients like lime juice, mango puree, and jalapeno. You can easily double the recipe, and it's the perfect combo of sweet and spicy.

I love to pair a recipe like this with tacos or something in the Mexican fare. Some of my favorites are Volcano Shrimp Tacos or Shrimp Tacos with Mango Lime Salsa. Even something like an Easy Chipotle BBQ Chicken Salad is a perfect pairing!

    Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

    Ingredients for the recipe.
    • Tequila. I typically use a silver tequila in classic margaritas. There's no need for any really expensive tequila because most of what you're tasting is the flavors of the drink.
    • Cointreau. Substitute any orange liqueur.
    • Lime Juice. Only fresh lime juice! It makes the biggest difference in the drink!
    • Mango Puree. Fresh mango puree is really easy to make with an immersion blender or blender.
    • Agave. You can substitute simple syrup or honey if necessary.
    • Jalapeno. You can substitute habanero for a more intense and spicy flavor!

*Please see the recipe card below for more information about the ingredients.

How to make a Spicy Mango Margarita

Step 1: Add the jalapeno to the shaker and muddle well. The more jalapeno you add, the spicier it will be!

Step 2: Add mango to a blender and blend until pureed.

Step 3: Add ice, tequila, cointreau, agave, mango, and lime juice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds.

Step 4: Coat the rim of the glass with agave and dip it in the tajin. Add ice to the glass and strain the drink into the glass. Serve with a lime garnish.

Serve a spicy mango margarita with any of your summer favorites, like Grilled Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs or another dish that highlights mango, Grilled Shrimp Salad with Mango Lime Dressing.

    Pro-Tips

    1. Shake vigorously. The agave will not mix well if you don't shake vigorously. This is what gives a margarita its slight froth. Don't skip the vigorous shake. I'm dead serious. I want you to aggressively shake this drink to really mix it.
    2. Spice it up. Add more jalapeno or other hot peppers like habanero for a more intensely spicy drink!
