A classic amaretto sour with a cherry twist! This cherry amaretto sour is the perfect balance of tart and sour with a delicious fresh cherry flavor combined with fresh citrus and nice foamy cap!
In a shaker, combine lemon juice from half a lemon and cherries. Muddle until they are pulp. Add enough ice to fill the shaker.
Pour in the bourbon, amaretto, and egg white. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Add fresh ice to a glass and strain the cocktail into glass. Garnish with halves cherries on a toothpick.
Notes
Amaretto sours should always be consumed immediately if they have an egg white in them. The egg white makes the perfect foamy texture but if left to sit, the lemon will actually start to cook the egg white and you'll start seeing a stringiness in the drink.
An easy and quick way to pit your cherries is to drive a straw through the center of the cherry and pin the pit to the cutting board while you remove the cherry.
